In January 2024, exports of agricultural products from the EU reached €18.4 billion (+2% compared to January 2023), mainly due to higher prices for olives, olive oil and cereal-based preparations, according to the latest monthly report published on Thursday 25 April by the European Commission.
Imports of agricultural products into Europe totalled €13.4 billion. As a result, the EU’s agri-food trade surplus reached €5 billion, an increase of 27% compared with January 2023.
